​The STEAM Innovation Challenge was an event held in KAUST in partnership with Dow, where KAUST students worked in interdisciplinary teams, alongside students from a number of partnering Saudi Universities, to develop and present solutions to major real world challenges.
Wafferha was the startup that Adair, Jan, Salman, Rana, Azis and Maha pitched at the event. Their idea consisted of a business plan for a technology company that would provide thermal insulation for existing houses in Saudi Arabia. Installing thermal insulation can provide huge electricity savings for houseowners in Saudi Arabia, since it would make the airconditioning system much more efficient.
